At 4.5 Months

It's a Girl!

I had my level II ultrasound last February 10 and thankfully, everything's fine. The doctor said that instead of being on my 19th week of pregnancy, I might be just  in my 18th week. I'll find out for sure on my check-up next month.

We also found out that we're having a baby girl. We're naming her Tala. It's an old Filipino word for "star." I've always loved how the name sounds. Now, we have to think of a second name that goes with Tala.

Here she is, our little jelly bean.

Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a nice valentine be it with a spouse, someone special, loved ones, or friends. I know valentine shouldn't really be a big deal since we're supposed to appreciate the ones we love every single day anyway, but it still wouldn't hurt if we decide to do something big or small to commemorate the day.

DH and I did not do anything fancy, but we did have fun. We had lunch at an indian restaurant where we always go when we're craving for some indian dishes. We didn't wanna go out at night when restaurants are crowded so we started our little celebration early. After lunch, we stopped by Barnes and Noble to pick books. I got Freedom by Jonathan Franzen since I've heard so many good things about it. I told DH I'd rather have books than flowers (a sure sign that I'm getting old...gasp). They didn't have Just Kids by Patti Smith so I'll just order it online.

In turn, I gave him a collage that I made of some of the places that we've been to as a couple. I included a cartoon pop-up of ourselves that was part of our wedding invitation back in 2008.

Here's DH holding my gift for him.

Our little gifts for each other

We capped our date by watching the movie, Just Go with It, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. It was surprisingly funnier than I thought it would be. So by 5:00 pm we were ready to go home just like we planned. What a bunch of oldies. Hehehe

Oh...and DH spotted these lovebirds celebrating their own valentine too. So cute!

Still Here

It's been forever since I blogged. A lot has happened. Towards the end of the year, Dear Hubby and I got the most amazing blessing. We found out on the 7th of November that we're pregnant! I didn't even have to take any fertility pill. Less than two months after we saw a fertility specialist, at that. Life is sure full of surprises.

2010 was very good to me. I was able to go back to school and complete my nursing prereqs. Being included in the honor list was also a lovely reward for all my hard work. I finally started this blog, which I have been contemplating on doing for the longest time. Of course, getting pregnant was by far the most precious gift of all.

I'm now in my 4th month. We can't wait to know our baby's gender. We'll find out by February 10. I'm so excited to be a mom. I've been praying for this for a long time. I wrote this back in September 24th. A Letter to Our Future Babies. I wouldn't have imagined that in two short weeks I would find out that we're having a baby!

So thank you 2010 for being the best year of my life yet. 2011, I welcome you with open arms and a happy heart.

Lanvin for H&M

Still on dresses, this collection is all over the internet and will be available on the 23rd. These are perfect for the holidays! I'm drooling over the yellow dress. It would be perfect for me. Sigh. How sad that there's not one H&M store in Texas.

Aren't these LBDs fabulous? The holiday parties are almost here! Time to whip out those cocktail dresses. I have two parties that require me wearing something formal. What is more appropriate than a little black dress? I have two in my closet, but one no longer fits me since I gained some weight. The other I just wore last year and I can't be wearing the same thing to the same annual party, can I? I'm gearing towards one shoulder dresses, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I still have a month to look for the perfect dress. So exciting! Something to look forward to in the midst of a hectic school semester.
